Anatolian Heritage Federation (“AHF,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of its members, partners, volunteers, and website users

As a federally incorporated not-for-profit corporation, AHF complies with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy standards.

AHF’s Board of Directors retains ultimate responsibility for ensuring compliance with privacy obligations under PIPEDA.

The Board may designate a Privacy Officer to oversee day-to-day compliance, respond to inquiries, and manage access requests.

“Personal Information” means information about an identifiable individual, including but not limited to:

Personal Information does not include aggregated or anonymized data that cannot identify an individual.

4.1 Website Visitors (Public Area)

  • Email addresses for newsletters

4.2 Member Portal Users

For authorized representatives of member organizations, we may collect:

  • Organizational affiliation
  • Login credentials
  • Governance participation records
  • Communication history

4.3 Event Registrations

For event participation:

  • Name and contact information
  • Dietary or accessibility needs (if voluntarily provided)
  • Attendance confirmation details

AHF collects only the information reasonably necessary for identified purposes.

AHF collects Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • Administering membership and governance communications
  • Managing event registrations and volunteer coordination

Governance records may be retained longer where required under the Canada Not-for-profit Corporations Act or applicable record-keeping obligations.

Under PIPEDA, individuals have the right to:

  • Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Inquire about how their information is used

Requests must be submitted in writing to the Privacy Officer.

AHF will respond within the timeframe required by PIPEDA.
